Experience Requirements
- 1 – 3 years of experience working in the transportation industry as a Trailer Mechanic (preferred)
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Ability to read and understand diagnostic equipment and codes
- Determine trailer condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion, completing winterization procedures.
- Maintain trailer appearance
- Maintain accurate repair and service records
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions and troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventative maintenance; call for repairs
- Contain costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Qualifications
- Must be service oriented, influential and adaptable to change
- Must possess an amiable personality with the communication skills necessary to interface with internal customers daily
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
